Our Mission

The Vision of IMHOPE

Our vision is to share Jesus with the nations with a five-fold thrust of evangelism, planting churches, making disciples, training Christian leaders, and humanitarian support so that the mandate of Jesus and the Great Commission will be fulfilled for the Glory of God.

The Mission of IMHOPE

In response to the Great Commission, IMHOPE exists to spread a passion for the worldwide mission of making disciples of Jesus and training believers to reach the nations for Christ.

Our commitment is to Christ. He is the core of our ministry and Hingis life and teachings is the foundation of our programs. They reflect our spiritual commitments and guide how we love people, respect the local church decision and cooperate with Christian leaders to spread the gospel to the nations.

We simply connect the local church here in America with the local non-speaking English churches and with the local church in Brazil. We assist small existing congregations, plant new churches, train Church leaders and encourage pastor and missionaries.  We typically get requests directly from our coordinator or the pastors and missionaries who work in a particular area.

IMHOPE raises the funds needed for a project: a simple structure as a “gift” to the church. Then a team of volunteers is sent to assist when the congregation is ready to complete its structure. We do not monitor or maintain. The ministry is completely theirs.  Our relationship is an engagement of loving the pastor, his people and serving the community.   We visit these churches time after time to encourage them in the Lord.

IMHOPE gives ordinary people in the local church an extraordinary opportunity to serve Christ by serving others and being a part of the Great Commission to continue to expand God’s kingdom.

The team members pay their way, stay in local hotels, eat at local restaurants and a local team provides food and transportation at the location of the project. There is always an opportunity to experience tourism and sightseeing.  Team member may decide to travel to visit a large city, the Amazons forest and the beautiful beaches on Brazil’s coast.

Brazil is one of the earth’s rare treasures. The skies are gorgeous, the Amazon forest is unique, the beaches unmatchable, and it is beyond inspiring to see it with your own eyes.

IMHOPE trips to Brazil last ten to twelve days. Teams typically consist of 10 to 15 volunteers. Travel times usually are in summer and November.  Come and join a team. We take good care of you. We are blessed with a wonderful coordinator in Brazil who graciously puts a team together to assist and serve along with our teams. They are family and will treat you like their own – we will too!
